The electrical chair and murderers

In America it has been death punishment since they got free from the United Kingdom. In 1887 the government of USA made a committee, to make a better way to execute people instead of hanging. The inventor of the electrical chairs name was Alfred P Southwick. They who build the chair was employs of Thomas Edison and their names were Harold P Brown and Arthur Kennelly.
When someone was executed with the electric chair it was called an" electrocution". The first electrocution was in 1890. The unlucky man's name was William Kemmler, who had killed his wife with a hatchet. They placed him in the electric chair and started it. He didn't die on the first shock, so they shocked him again to he died, but with some negatives he caught on fire. The smell and the first impression of the electrocution were miserable. After a while they tried to lay a wet swamp under the strop. The idea of this was to send electricity in trough the brain of the victim for a quicker death. This didn't take so long time and they didn't catch on fire

This is Old Sparky one of the most famous electrical chairs ever, together with Sizzlin` Sally, Old Smokey, Yellow Mama and Gruesome Gertie.
The electrical chair was forbidden in 1980, because the government of USA had a vision of a more humane way to execute people. It was on this time they began with lethal injection. The electrocution had get critic that it took multiply shocks before the prisoners or criminals died. The Press (the news paper) said that it was unusual and cruel. Now the only that's remain of the old electric chair is on museums.

Jack the Ripper
In 1888 it was five murders in London around the Whitechapel area. Since he "ripped" his Victims with a knife, he got the nickname Jack the Ripper. Jack killed only ladies and when he killed them he sometimes removed some organs. Many were suspected, someone taught he was a doctor, or just had knowledge to the human body. Some say he was wealthy, someone said he was poor. The police hunted for him, but never found him (that's why he is so famous). Mary Jane Kelly was seen with a tall man before she was murdered, they thought that was Ripper. But nobody knew who the man was so he was never arrested. Scotland Yard has a file on Jack the Ripper, which will be there to someone solve the mystery. Jack had sent a letter to the police saying that his next victim he would cut off the ear and send it as a package to the police. After a month Jack had not sent an ear to the police, so he sent a letter that apologize his "rudeness" for not sending an ear of his victim.

Spring-heeled Jack
Was a murder (or thief), that they said he could jump over several roofs at once. First time he was reported was night in 1837 in London. The report was given to the police by a business man. On his way home from work late at night a man had jump in his path then run down the street then disappeared. The business man said that the man had a devilish look and red round burning eyes. It was not an attack, but the man reported it for the look on the man. Later in October Mary Stevens was on her way home, but suddenly a man jump on her and begin raping her. In panic she screamed and the man disappeared. The next day a man jump in front of a carriage, so the driver lost control and crashed in a wall and injured himself and some others that become witnesses. The witnesses said they had seen a man jump over a nine foot fence (2, 7 meters) babbling and laughing like a madcap. After that period the public and the press gave him the name Spring Heeled Jack. They said he could jump over houses and to his victim and disappear as fast as he came. A woman named Jane Alsop had been murdered by spring heeled Jack (or they thought it was him the murderer was never found). Thomas Milbank accused the owner of Morgan's Arms. Morgan was arrested and taken to the police station for interrogation, but he didn't know anything so he was released.
